07/11/2015
Tragedy struck again for a Pietermaritzburg family when a man, his wife and daughter drowned on Saturday afternoon at about 3 pm at Zimbali beach (on Durban's north coast), after being swept by a large breaking wave.
The family, the parents and their two daughters, were staying at the Fairmont Zimbali resort to celebrate the father's 65th birthday. A family member said that "they were not swimming but were posing for the photograph when they were hit so hard by a wave that it dropped them down. As they tried to get up, a series of huge waves continuously crashed on them, making it impossible for them to get up.
